After seeing this movie's "Bullshot Crummond" source play, apparently Mel Brooks once said that it would be impossible to film.
One of the movie's taglines read: "Before there was Bond there was BULLSHOT!" This movie's lead character Captain Hugh "Bullshot" Crummond was a spoof of the classic British adventure character "Bulldog" Drummond who has long being considered as a historical fictional precursor to James Bond.
This movie was produced by George Harrison of The Beatles fame.
