Assumpta Serna recalled her shock and dismay at discovering that a close-up of her genitals, which formed part of the brutal rape scene, had been selected as the sole image to be used on the poster advertising the movie. "There was a very strong, brutal rape sequence, with a very explicit shot of sex. Jorge Grau insisted that this shot was essential. We did it, and after a lot of talking, a lot of arguing about the meaning of the film, it turned out that the only image they wanted to use for the poster was that one. I didn't argue with Grau, but I was disappointed," Serna said.
In a 2025 interview, Assumpta Serna talked about the criticism the film had at the time about it inciting violence. "What the protagonist does is understandable. I mean, there are some deeply immoral people who are breaking her dignity, so she takes revenge into her own hands [...] I don't know what I would do if I found myself in a situation like that, it's impossible. But I would always try to negotiate. Always, even if they had put me what they have put me in the middle (laughs). But I don't know if I would be able to do it; you also have to be brave to make that decision," she said.
