Pauline at the Beach (1983)

Trivia

Pauline at the Beach

Edit
A favorite of filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, who would recommend it to clients of the video rental store he used to work at.
The third of director Éric Rohmer's six "Comedies et Proverbes" series of movies of the 1980s. The other five, in chronological order, are The Aviator's Wife (1981), A Good Marriage (1982), Full Moon in Paris (1984), The Green Ray (1986) and Boyfriends and Girlfriends (1987).
When Pierre confronts Pauline at her cousin's house, Pauline is interrupted in reading a Gallimard book entitled 'L'Ennemi public n° 2', written by Gérard Lecas. Lecas, while an author of not overwhelming popularity, was also involved in filmmaking, particularly in the films of director Éric Rohmer, and was in fact working as a sound assistant on Pauline at the Beach (1983). 'L'Ennemi public n° 2', his debut novel, had been published in 1982, the year in which the film was being made.
Film debut of Amanda Langlet.
Film debut of Simon de La Brosse, discovered by famous casting director Dominique Besnehard, working as a server in a Parisian café.
