Jesper Klein, who plays the father, never liked so much this movie, even though he got a Bodil Award for his role. Director Nils Malmros explained, "When I work with children who are not actors, I am very controlling, even more than I would normally be. I had to behave in the same way towards Jesper and after three days he was about to stop." However, the actor chose to stay because of an acquaintance with one of the photographers on the film.
