In game footage of the Bulls is actually game footage of the Los Angeles Express of the now defunct United States Football League.
Tango Entertainment released the entire series on DVD in 2006. About half the episodes are the original HBO broadcast episodes. The other half are the syndicated episodes that appeared on USA network. The syndicated episodes are a few minute shorter and delete the nudity and R-rated language.
In real life Delta Burke, who plays Diane Barrow in this series, is married to Gerald McRaney. Shanna Reed plays "Gail" a character that succeeds Delta Burke's character as President of the fictional California Bulls football team would go on to play Gerald McRaney's wife in the show "Major Dad" (1989)
