Stacy Keach in The New Mike Hammer (1984)

Trivia

The New Mike Hammer

Edit
There were fewer episodes in the 1984 season due to the fact that Stacy Keach had to serve a six-month jail sentence in England after being convicted of cocaine possession.
The jazz classic "Harlem Nocturne" was used as the show's theme song.
When Stacey Keach went to serve out his six month conviction for cocaine possession, post production was not complete and affected Keach's narration of the season 2 episodes. Episode 12 had little narration than usual and what it had was done by Don Stroud. Episodes 13 and 14 were done by another actor that tried to mimic Keach but sounds more like Leslie Nielsen. Keach continued his character narrations beginning with season 3.
According to a March 9th 1984 newspaper , The News-Messenger from Freemont Ohio, the title theme and background music was composed by Earl Hagen. It's called 'Harlem Nocturne' and Hagen states there are a hundred different recordings made of it and suggest checking the Schwann Catalog in any record store to find it.
The mysterious and stunningly beautiful woman known as "The Face," that Mike frequently sees around town was played by the stunningly beautiful actress Donna Denton. She's later featured in season 3 in "A Face In The Night."
