Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin in All of Me (1984)

Trivia

All of Me

Edit
In an interview, Steve Martin once said of this movie: "This man is not an idiot. He is a contemporary person with some brains . . . he's not naive or a victim of circumstances. He's an intelligent man who happens to get caught in a disaster. That's a big difference between this role and any other part I've played . . . For the first time I'm in a story with a beginning, middle, and end. It's old-fashioned and solid . . . This movie was like going to school. I learned a lot about structure and character."
The Cutwater Mansion seen in the film is 1928-built Greystone Manor which is the largest private residence ever constructed in Beverly Hills. The property has featured in several Hollywood movies.
Lily Tomlin was born on the same day as the Nazi German invasion of Poland (September 1, 1939), which kickstarted World War II. Steve Martin was born on VJ Day (August 14, 1945), which is when Japan surrendered, which effectively ended World War II.
Steve Martin once said of this picture in Morris Wayne Walker's book "Steve Martin: The Magic Years" (1999): "My mature film career started with All of Me (1984) and ends with L.A. Story (1991)."
Steve Martin and Victoria Tennant met on the set of this movie. They were married in 1986 and divorced around eight years later in 1994.

Cameo

Teddy Edwards: The tenor saxophonist legend in the funeral scene as a band leader on bass drum leading the Dixieland Band.
