After the super hit of Sargam Rakesh Roshan signed the Sargam direct his production Kaamchor and aftter the success again Rakesh Roshan signed K.Vishwanat to direct Jaag Utah Insaan. They also worked toghether in Shubh Kamna & Aurat Aurat Aurat.
This was the first film of Mithun Chakravorty with Sridevi together.
Sridevi slashed her price and gave preferred treatment to the film because she really wanted to work with director K. Vishwanath.
There was a shelved movie Mayur Pictures "Insaan Jaag Utha"(1992) Starring Amey, Mamta Kulkarni, Suchitra Krishnamurthy,Sudha Chandran, Prem Chopra,Pran,Music by Raam Laxman,Directed by Vasant Purohit.
It was during the film that Mithun and Sridevi fell in love with each other. After the film released the media carried stories that Mithun and Sridevi had split up and now she was refusing films opposite him. Sridevi claimed this was false. She never stated she would not work with Mithun. It was just that the film offered to her opposite Mithun, had a very small role in it.
