One Night Stand (1984)

Trivia

One Night Stand

Edit
Footage of the Australian rock band Midnight Oil was taken from their Midnight Oil Show concert staged in Sydney and filmed and recorded on 18th September 1983.
The 'Oz Movies' website states ''the film failed to perform theatrically. According to the 'Film Victoria' report on Australian box office, it did only $111,978 in business, equivalent in A$ 2009 to $284,424. It did get a release on VHS in the United States, and in Japan, and in some European territories, but it didn't do theatrical business elsewhere.''
Two montage sequences from Fritz Lang's classic silent film Metropolis'' (1927) are featured in the film. These include the scenes of the powerhouse exploding and a scene of the robot/Maria seated in a chair.
The film's director John Duigan once described the movie as "absurdist espresso-realism".
First of three Australian theatrical feature films made during the mid-1980s starring Australian-born actress Cassandra Delaney. The first was 'One Night Stand' (1984) and the second was 'Rebel' (1985) with the third being 'Fair Game' (1986). All three pictures were released in consecutive years.

Cameo
