Tanya Roberts in Sheena (1984)

Quotes

Sheena

Edit
  • Sheena: See! Even in chains, we can defeat them! Turn your minds back, my people. Remember yourselves a thousand, a thousand moons ago! Bring your bows!
  • Sheena: I am not a foolish young girl, Viccasey. The Shaman taught me that brave tales do not always have happy endings. I know what guns can do. I know that you and I may not live to see another sunset.
  • [Vic walks up to her and kisses her on the mouth]
  • Sheena: You are an enemy!
  • Vic Casey: I'm what?
  • Sheena: The Shaman taught me. An enemy is one who takes without asking.
  • Vic Casey: I'll ask then. May I?
  • Sheena: [quietly] Yes.
  • Shaman: Embrace me now.
  • Sheena: My heart goes with you, Shaman, and my fear.
  • Shaman: Keep the fear inside you. I carry enough of my own.
  • Fletcher: You're not gonna believe this, Vic. I just saw a blond.
  • Vic Casey: A blond what?
  • Fletcher: A blonde blond, a girl! She was swinging in the trees.
  • Vic Casey: You mean a blond gorilla?
  • Fletcher: I know the difference between a gorilla and a girl.
  • Vic Casey: [leading Fletcher as he films the King's dinner party] Follow the pigs... . watch the boobs coming into the right of your frame.
  • Fletcher: Boobs? What kind of talk is that?
  • Vic Casey: As in tits. Zanda, the King's sweetie with the network, remember?
  • Fletcher: I see what you mean.
  • Vic Casey: Yeah.
  • Fletcher: Oh boy, do I see what you mean.
  • Vic Casey: [on phone] Baby, you are talking to a man in pain. I am sitting on an Emmy and I can't get it out. You know what that means?
  • Fletcher: [chuckles] Sounds like he needs a laxative.
  • Sheena: You must think I'm a fool. Words are like the wind, they cannot be carried home.
  • Vic Casey: They can.
  • [plays back her last line on his portable tape recorder]
  • Sheena: We will be safe here for a while. They would never believe you could run over such rocks.
  • Vic Casey: Me?
  • Sheena: Of course. They know I can run anywhere.
  • Sheena: Mouths were given us to eat with. Why did you touch yours to mine?
  • Sheena: [looking through a pair of binoculars] Viccasey, you are a giant!
  • Vic Casey: Occasionally...
  • Otwani: It's pretty amazing. You've been on my turf all my life, and I've never met you.
  • Sheena: How have the Zambouli ever hurt you? Why do you chain me?
  • Otwani: I'm your king. I can do anything I want...
  • Countess Zanda: [pinches his arm] Don't even think of it!
  • Otwani: I'll try not to.
  • Sheena: You will be made welcome in Zukuru. The head man's locust bean cakes, they'll be your locust bean cakes. His fermented buffalo milk will be your fermented buffalo milk.
  • Fletcher: What's wrong?
  • Vic Casey: Footprints... running I think. How many toes does a zebra got, if any?
  • Fletcher: Back when we played "doctor," that's what we called a girl. A blonde!
  • Fletcher: [in Range Rover] Top of the news, the man says. Dan Ratherford! I'm telling you, we could get killed doing this. I'm talking about bullets through the head. Let's just turn around and go back, huh?
  • Vic Casey: All right, Fletch, you're absolutely right, we'll go. First plane in the morning, I promise.
  • Fletcher: Sheesh.
  • Vic Casey: I just wanna interview that Zambuli woman they've got locked in jail first.
  • Fletcher: Oh, great, not only is he suicidal, he's crazy. Uh, they're not gonna let us just walk up in there, you know.
  • Vic Casey: I have a pass.
  • Fletcher: A what? Lemme see it.
  • [Vic hands him a slip of paper]
  • Fletcher: [as Vic quickly pulls the slip of paper away before he can get a glimpse of it:] Hey!
  • Vic Casey: Nah, nah, nah, nah.
  • Sheena: [amid the ruins of Zakuru, tearfully:] How can fire burn so hot? How can even stone pots be made into ashes?
  • Vic Casey: Gas, probably. Gasoline.
  • Sheena: You spoke of that before. The water the wagons drink.
  • [Vic nods]
  • Sheena: [pics up Zambuli bow] You are wrong, Viccasey. Warning is not the only way to save people's lives!
  • Vic Casey: What else can we do?
  • Sheena: Stop Otwani! Come!
  • Sheena: [nude in pool] Why don't you come in and wash? You're as dirty as a warthog!
  • Vic Casey: No, I - I don't think so.
  • Sheena: Water frightens you?
  • Vic Casey: Well, no, not exactly.
  • Sheena: [wades over towards him] Come in, Viccasey. The water's cold...
  • [splashes him]
  • Vic Casey: Oh! Oh!
  • Sheena: ...It's so good for you.
  • [referring to his formal attire:]
  • Sheena: Remove those strange skins you wear.
  • [as he takes off his tie:]
  • Sheena: From what animal did they come?
  • Vic Casey: The wild silk moth. It roams in Bloomingdales.
  • [unbuttons shirt]
  • Sheena: [pulls in her breath at the sight of his hairy chest] Fur! You have further!
  • Vic Casey: I have *what?*
  • Sheena: The Zambuli men do not have fur on their bodies. This cannot be.
  • Vic Casey: [driven nuts by the sight of her nakedness] Would you go back in the water, please?
  • Sheena: Why?
  • Sheena: [they're captives now] Thank you, Viccasey.
  • Vic Casey: You're thanking me?
  • Sheena: The fire in my veins tells me I am still alive. I have not failed my people yet!
