Shashi Kapoor lost big amount of money with Utsav he got into debts. Utsav made Shashi Kapoor bankraft. After about 7 years later, Shashi Kapoor released Ajooba, a totally big budget masala type of film, here slowly Shashi Kapoor recovered his money and got of red.
The last film Kunal Kapoor acted in his father film.
Amitabh Bachchan was originally slated to appear in the movie in the lead role. Bachchan, and Shashi Kapoor, previously appeared in 'Suhaag,' another film where Rekha played the role of a courtesan.
Rekha got extremely mad at Shekhar Suman after he gave an interview where he insinuated that the two were having an affair. Shekhar was terribly sorry for upsetting her and wrote her an apology letter. He never had the courage to ask her if she even got the letter.
Based on the 4th-century play 'Mrichchakatikam'(meaning The Little Clay Cart) written by the Sanskrit scholar Shudraka.
