Edward Fox's first wife, Tracy Reed, was the granddaughter of Freda Dudley Ward, one of Edward VIII's mistresses when he was Prince of Wales.

(2011). His nephew, Laurence Fox played the former King's younger brother and eventual successor, King George VI, in W.E. (2011), and his great-nephew, King Charles III, in Whatever Love Means (2005).
