- Joshua: [to Margaret] We can't be here.

- Margaret: You look dazzling in that uniform! Why don't you join us in some wine?
- Ranger: You're not allowed to drink alcohol here either.
- Joshua: You know a man my age has very few pleasures left.

- Joshua: We've walked on this beach for over fifty years. We've seen erosion plans come and go and they always fail - and you know why? Because erosion is a natural state of Cape Cod. As it is with everything else here. Have some wine.
