Debbie Does Dallas Part II

We see as to why the original film is considered a classic in the adult world and towards that genre of films- it had a different spark to it where the controversy somewhat made the film feel better overall yet also had a certain feel good charm.

This sequel now seemingly loses its charm in which made the original stand out and feels like any other typical adult film. Nothing is really funny and situations are more serious and so is the tone.

There is certainly more of Debbie here as she's in roughly four explicit scenes. Her acting of course isn't the strongest but she seems less shy and is showing off a lot more. From the first jail cell scene, to the threesome with two other women to the scene with Ron Jeremy, to the concluding dream-like scene with the trucker (played by the coach in the original film).

We understand the main purpose of these films but speaking from a film standpoint, its plot is rather thin, is silly and simply isn't engaging. After the opening roughly ten minutes, it feels like constant "explicit" scene after one another. Including one with two women with red and black lighting while Debbie spies over them, which felt like it went on for far too long.

The original Debbie Does Dallas is somewhat considered a classic in it's own right; it's one of the entry level porn films, and I would assume that most teenage boys will have discussed it at some point or other in their school career; but the same cant be said for Debbie Does Dallas 2, or at least I don't think it can; I'm not really sure because the version I saw was cut down to seventy minutes and had a big oval blob in the middle of the screen every time there was a sex scene! I guess I got hold of a copy of the prudish version (thanks, BBFC). Of course you may wonder what I was thinking watching a porn flick with all the good bits cut out...and to be honest, I struggle for an answer to that question. Anyway, the plot has a lot of room for plenty of sex, and focuses on a brothel. Debbie (Bambi Woods reprising her role from the first film) goes to stay with her aunt who runs this brothel, and naturally wants to become one of its employees. From there it's basically country music and sex scenes; some of them looked like they may have been decent, I'm not really sure for the reasons already mentioned. I'll give the benefit of the doubt since the version I saw was chopped...but I probably won't bother tracking down an uncut version.

After watching this so-called sequel, one has to wonder if Debbie will ever get to do Dallas. In the one scene which goes some way to being comedic, she is abused by some hick lawmen. The gaol scene was probably funny when the film was made but now looks more like an abuse of power. Still, watching the nubile Bambi Woods has got to be one of life's guilty pleasures. In time she ends up at her aunt's ranch which just so happens to be the local brothel. Never mind though, Debbie knows how to please the customers.

Despite some tries at comedy, this is a porn film - the presence of porn stalwart Ron Jeremy should dispel all doubts on that matter. The main scene is actually a chamber in which the porn actors perform their dirty deeds while the customers watch from behind glass screens. The sex scenes are quite impressive for those who like this sort of thing and one scene in particular is more deep throat than Deep Throat. The ending of the film was unexpected but there was still the nagging feeling that this was more of a cobbled-together effort than anyone would admit.

Debbie Does Dallas 2 was the first Porno that I ever owned, although I didn't know that was the title until years later. A friend copied it off for me, and I'm sure I pretty much wore the video tape out during puberty, along with a host of other 70's schlock porn.

This was a longtime fave for everyone to poke fun at, with the major scene being Debbie's jail adventure.

Great flick, in it's own nostalgic way.

Debbie (Bambi Woods) has decided to put her cheer-leading days behind her and after a rough exchange with a cop she finds herself at a bordello where she figures working won't kill her.

When DEBBIE DOES DALLAS was first released it turned into a massive success and it made an overnight star of Woods. The rest is pretty much an unwritten history as to what happen to Woods and why she came out of hiding to appear in this film is anyone's guess. There are a couple different documentaries out there about the making of this series and its star so it makes for some interesting viewing.

As far as this sequel goes, it's about as cheap and as stupid as you can get but there's one thing that makes it worth watching and that's Woods herself. Sure, her performance here is just as bad as in the original but sometimes looks can cover up things like, you know, bad acting. I personally found Woods to be extremely cute and I thought there's a certain naive quality that comes across from her performance not meeting certain standards.

Familiar faces like Robert Kerman, Jamie. St. John and Jeanne Silver are on hand but the entire film is pretty much leading up to Ron Jeremy making an appearance and getting it on with Debbie. The film's plot is downright stupid, the attempts at comedy are fails and there's no question that the film is somewhat poorly made but at the same time it delivers as a sex film.
