High Jinx in the high skies. Lighten up people, it's a comedy!

"Stewardess School" is one of those movies you THINK you've seen because of the overly familiar title but you haven't. Much like the early "Airports" it's a spoof with a lot of former television actors you may have forgotten...but in this film they all give really good performances. That's why the movie shows up all the time on comedy cable stations. if you're not feeling like rushing right out and renting it, just wait, it'll be on a channel near you shortly. It's fun, innocent and funny but unfortunately got stuck with a title that makes it seem like something it isn't.. Like the nice girl in high school with the bad rep: "Stewardess School" is worth getting to know better.

Stewardess School falls short of being a good movie, but its '80s charm makes it worth a watch

I recently watched Stewardess School (1986) on Tubi. The storyline revolves around a group of misfits in flight steward school. For graduation, they must work a real flight, showcasing they're more than misfits. The lives of passengers hang in the balance during their final exam.

Directed and written by Ken Blancato in his sole directorial project, the film features Brett Cullen (The Dark Knight Rises), Sandahl Bergman (Conan the Barbarian), Don Most (Happy Days), Judy Landers (Armed and Dangerous), Robert Paulsen (Pinky and the Brain), and Sherman Hemsley (The Jeffersons).

The movie exudes '80s vibes, resembling a mix of Porky's and Airplane, albeit not reaching the heights of either. This film carries a fun nostalgic cast, notable Judy Landers stands out for being smoking hot as always. While the humor may miss more than hit, memorable moments like a Twisted Sister line and a fantastic crushed nuts conversation add some laughs. The shower scene stands out as the movie's highlight.

In conclusion, Stewardess School falls short of being a good movie, but its '80s charm makes it worth a watch. I would give it a score of 3.5-4/10 and recommend watching it at least once.

    Utter Crap

I unfortunately seen this film at 1am on free to air TV whilst at work, so I didn't have the opportunity to change channels. The film is that bad that the local station placed it's community service announcements, instead of paid advertising in the commercial gaps! Honestly, this movie is crap. If you enjoy a bit of a tit flick (my workmates certainly did!), crude sexual references & stereotyping of the worst kind, this film is for you. For me however, I did not see any redeeming features at all (although the community service announcements were informative) & considered the whole film a waste of time.

A Classic USA's Up All Night Film!!!

This is a must see if you watch USA's Up All Night with Gilbert Godfried & Rhonda. Simply put, it's a corn-ball movie with sex as a major theme. However, this movie contains one of the funniest scenes ever. Wendy Jo Sperber finds a a bomb on the plane. After it detonates, she uses her large "behind" to plug the hole until the plane lands. Highly unrealistic but truly original.

There actually is such a thing

Yes, stewardesses have to go to 'school'. Most airlines typically have a months' long training camp where you have to room with other potential employees in which undesirable candidates are weeded out. For those not bright enough to remember all of the 3-letter airport abbreviations and other intellectually demanding tasks they receive the boot.

Anyway, this 'gem' I remember from cable TV days is a real diamond in the rough. The jokes are crude and lewd! What do you expect from a movie starring the one and only Judy Landers or even Don Most? This movie can provoke the same reaction as Recruits (1986) which is a sex comedy rip-off of Police Academy. I remember begging my mom to take me to see that movie thinking it was hilarious but my mom didn't agree with me for some reason. For those looking for a family friendly comedy you need to look elsewhere.
