Return of the Killer Tomatoes! (1988)

Trivia

Return of the Killer Tomatoes!

Edit
Teri Weigel plays the part of a playmate. She was actually Playboy's Playmate of April 1986.
Steve Lundquist appears in a Vidal Sassoon ad in the issue of Playboy George Clooney holds up.
Just before Wilbur starts the flashback in his pizza shop, a newspaper clipping on the wall behind him praises Wilbur.
Just after Professor Gangreene chews out Igor for interviewing the teddy bear, one of the clocks on the wall behind him reads, "Las Vegas" and has no hands. It likely refers to the fact that Las Vegas casinos don't have clocks.
In the 2023 documentary, Screaming Soup! Presents the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Retrospective (2023), John Astin states his performance as Gangreen was a little inspired by his father who was a real life scientist in charge of developing a death ray for the US government.

Cameo

Gary Condit: a patron in the pizzeria. J. Stephen Peace was a friend of Condit, and both were members of the California State Assembly. Condit was elected to Congress in 1989. He became a household name in 2001, when Chandra Levy, a Federal Bureau of Prisons intern from his district, disappeared. While Condit was not an official suspect in the disappearence, he admitted during questioning that she was his mistress. Levy's remains were found in a Washington D.C. park in 2002. Her death remains unsolved.
