Voted as one of the "12 Best Hungarian Films" ("New Budapest 12") by Hungarian filmmakers and critics in 2000.
Following Ildikó Enyedi's multiple wins, including the Golden Bear, at the 2017 Berlin International Film Festival for On Body and Soul (2017), the digitalized and restored version of "My Twentieth Century" was screened at the 2018 festival in the "Berlinale Classics" programme, with Enyedi in attendance.
The film was selected as the Hungarian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 62nd Academy Awards.
