Kelly McGillis and Peter Weller in Cat Chaser (1989)

Trivia

Cat Chaser

Edit
Kelly McGillis has cited the film as discouragement from pursuing acting. She hates the film and did not have a good experience during filming.
Peter Weller and Kelly McGillis did not get along during the filming of the movie, although in later interviews the crew was never able to comprehend what drove such animosity. The final straw was on the last day of shooting when Weller and McGillis were shooting a sex scene. Weller made a disparaging comment towards McGillis during filming. McGillis, who was the subject of frequent taunting by other members of the crew during filming, stormed off the set after filming wrapped and came back with her head completely bald, and vowing never to return for retakes.
The movie included a graphic rape scene. By any standard, this scene was designed to push the limits. Abel Ferrara felt that the scene was too physical, so he wanted to have a body double shoot it. According to Ferrara, Kelly McGillis was very upset when she learned she wouldn't be shooting the scene. He said that McGillis accused him of replacing her because he didn't think she was beautiful enough. Eventually, McGillis and Ferrara worked out the scene in a way that she could film it herself. Ferrara claims that the actress essentially wrote the scene herself.
Cat Chaser is what the taunting Dominican woman calls Weller's character during the scene set during the military intervention. It's a non-flattering euphemism for a womanizer.
Kelly McGillis also ended up locking heads with director Abel Ferrera during production, even going as far as to insult him while she walked off the set.
