The judge's chamber scenes were filmed in the Senior Common Room of Cochran Bay residence at the University of King's College, Halifax on a Saturday in the fall of 1988. The two short scenes took the whole day to film. (The exterior shot leading into the first scene with the judge is of another Halifax building).
