In 2012, it was announced that Rilean Pictures acquired the rights to develop this movie into a live-action movie to be produced by Rilean Pictures' partners Jonathan and Juan Iglesias. However, more than a decade after the announcement, there has still been no other word regarding the live-action adaptation. And the project almost seems to have been abandoned.
Originally produced in stereoscopic 3-D (for being watched with 3-D glasses). The posters claimed it was the first ever animated feature made in this process, but Australian film "Abra Cadabra" was released 2 years prior.
This movie takes place in the year 2985 - 1,000 years into the future.
Much of this movie was animated with a 1.85:1 frame in mind, but the two-perf single-strip 3-D projection system required a 2.35:1 ratio. As a result, many shots appear framed unusually tight, and in some cases characters' heads are partially cut off.
Zygon's robot guards resembles the Cylon Centurions from the television series Battlestar Galactica (1978). The Cylons are also robots.
