Peter Ustinov in Thirteen at Dinner (1985)

Trivia

Thirteen at Dinner

Edit
Appearing here as Inspector Japp, David Suchet played Hercule Poirot in the television series Poirot (1989), including Lord Edgware Dies (2000), another version of this story. In later years, Suchet has often said that his performance as Japp was the worst of his entire career.
According to David Suchet's 2013 memoir, "Poirot and Me", he and Ustinov discussed the character of Poirot during the filming of "Thirteen at Dinner"; in the book, Suchet recalls that Ustinov admitted that he was not very much like the Poirot in Agatha Christie's books and suggested that Suchet would make a good Poirot. It was only three years later that Suchet was cast as Poirot in the television series Poirot (1989).
Sir Peter Ustinov and David Suchet appeared in Victoria & Albert (2001).
Hastings is reading the March 12, 1985 edition of The Financial Times featuring the headline "Gorbachev is new Soviet leader."
Although Donald Ross is an actor in this adaptation, he was a playwright in the novel.

Cameo

David Frost: The journalist appears as himself interviewing Poirot, Bryan Martin and Carlotta Adams on his chat show.

Director Cameo

Lou Antonio: As the obnoxious film producer whose industry speak baffles Poirot and Hastings.
