During an interview, actress Betsy Russell was asked what she thought about the trailer showing her character as a strong female, but then cutting to her in the shower. She said: "I've never really paid attention to that. I guess strong females still have to take showers. They still like to feel sexy, so I don't think there's one thing that should stop someone from feeling sexy and showing their body if that's what they choose to do. I don't think it makes any difference in the world."
A service station called ''Brown's'' doubled for "Chester's'' garage aka ''Chester's Garage'' in the movie according to an article published in the 1st March 1985 issue of the 'L.A. Movie Gazette' publication. Reportedly, owners of the gas station were so pleased with the re-fitting and re-modeling of the premises for the film, that they retained both the visual look and the fictional name "Chester's" for their business after production on the picture had been completed.
Actor Eric Douglas, who played Ernie Leeds Jr, was himself no fan of this movie. In 1994, when asked whether the critics were right to pan it as they'd done, Douglas answered by bursting into exaggerated death-groans.
