"Stingray's" real name and actual occupation are never revealed in any of the installments; throughout the series, any attempt any other character makes, in any installment, to track down his identity inevitably and invariably leads in the wrong direction and/or to a dead end.
Although Ray occasionally encounters someone from his past who knows who he is, they never reveal it. He volunteers his true identity to only one person throughout the series, who seems to recognize the name and is stunned by it.
Moving production to Vancouver caused great weather challenges to the production which led to stories being changed and is thought to have led to its cancellation.
Stingray's clients are always referred by word of mouth from his past acquaintances. He does not accept money as payment. His payment is a promise that the client will grant him a favor in the future whenever Stingray requests it.
When Ray does request a favor it is always to help another client rather than for his own benefit.
The second Season ran from January 1987 on Friday Nights replacing The A Team from January 9th in the 8pm slot that was in the first half of the season occupied by The A Team which was cancelled in December.
