The Theatrical Version had to be cut because the movie was too long. Fifteen years later, director Jean-Jacques Beineix made his "version integrale", the Director's Cut. Now it isn't only easier to understand Betty's inner conflict, funny scenes have been added, too. Due to continuity reasons some scenes have had to be removed though. Others were arranged differently.
