When the film was started in 1983 it was titled "Aag Aur Shabnam" and starred Salma Agha in the lead.
Jind Le Gaya Woh Dil Ka Jaani, while Lata Mangeshkar sang this song in the audio and the film the song was originally recorded with Anuradha Paudwal and later dubbed over by Lata.
Salma Agha was originally cast in the lead role and and even recorded a song 'Mera Naam Salma'. After she left the film, the song was retained and picturized on Rati Agnihotri .
Anil Kapoor did not like the script of the film and rejected the offer. It was Boney Kapoor who convinced him to sign the film.
The intro of the song "Chaand Chuptha Hain" was sampled from Cerrone's song "Love In".
