"The Kindred" is currently not available on DVD. It was released in Australia as a region-free, full screen PAL DVD in 2006 (UPC 9332412001773). The DVD was obviously copied from a video tape and is now out-of-print.
This neat 80s horror movie, which offers several good, digusting effects and was followed by two bad sequels that don't have anything to do with the first, was released completely uncensored in Germany on VHS, rated 18+. The DVD, on the other hand, is based on the slightly shorter US-Master, which most likely conforms to the R-Rated version and misses a bit of violent content.
