Moa

1 review
8/10

A strong movie about a strong woman.

Moa Martinson was a famous Swedish writer. She grew up in poverty, and that shaped her writing. For example, she was born out of wedlock and her stepfather had alcohol problems.

Moa´s first husband also had alcohol problems. Their two youngest sons drowned. And quite soon after that Moa´s first husband decided to end his life. Moa´s second husband was Harry Martinson. He was also a famous Swedish writer.

I think that this is a strong movie about a strong woman. Moa Martinson faced many difficulties, but she must have overcome them and become even stronger than before. And that is very impressive and inspiring. Gunilla Nyroos did, if you ask me, a great job here. So what did I miss in this movie? Hm, more clarity in some scenes, something from Moa´s childhood and maybe more romance. But all in all, I can recommend "Moa".
