Beloved Disney animated film Tangled is getting a live-action treatment, and Latina music diva Jennifer Lopez is reportedly being eyed for the role of Mother Gothel, Rapunzel’s manipulative fake mother. Filmmaker Michael Gracey is also reportedly attached to this reimagining of the 2010 film based on the Brothers Grimm story.

The speculation on Lopez possibly playing the iconic role started after fans noticed the singer liking several posts on social media regarding the project. Her potential involvement in the movie, however, yielded mixed reactions from fans, with some even comparing her to Hollywood’s controversial star Dwayne Johnson.

Last month, Deadline confirmed that a live-action adaptation of Tangled is on the way, joining the studio’s league of live-action projects. Plot details remain under wraps, but there are already swirling rumors of possible actors playing certain roles.

The new sports biopic Unstoppable features an outstanding cast led by Emmy winner Jharrel Jerome as 2011 NCAA wrestling champion Anthony Robles. Unstoppable chronicles the remarkable true story and difficult upbringing of Robles, who faced obstacles and challenges both on and off the wrestling mat. Directed by Oscar-winning editor William Goldenberg in his feature film directorial debut, Unstoppable is based on Robles' 2012 book Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion. Unstoppable premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2024 before getting a limited release in theaters on December 6. Streaming platform Pandora has unveiled its Most-Thumbed Movie Songs Playlist. Based on Pandora listeners’ thumbs-up activity, 102 of the most popular movie songs were rounded up.

Among the most-thumbed tracks are “Earned It” by the Weeknd from “Fifty Shades of Grey,” “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth from “Furious 7” and “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri from “Twilight.”

The singer, 48, shared her experience with sexual harassment in Hollywood, recalling an uncomfortable encounter with a director in her early years of acting.
