Earlier in the film, the girl lets the sorority's cat into the house and picks it up. It was mentioned that the cat had died, was buried, and the sorority sisters wouldn't tell her because it would upset her. The slugs were seen at one point burrowing into the cat's grave. When the girl picks it up, it's definitely under the influence of the slugs, and the girl screams. The scene ends, but the implication is a slug would have jumped from the cat to her at that point.

This cult classic was recently released on DVD/Blu-ray in a new Unrated Director's Cut version. This DC features the alternative TV ending with Roy Cameron as a Zombie.

But this is not the end. As mentioned before, there's an alternative TV version, that features even more differences than the new ending. Here, curse words and other offensive scenes were exchanged by new footage plus completely new scenes can be found in this cut of the movie.
