Though the film is said to be based on a true story (and even talks of having located the "real" Catherine Miles), it is actually fictional.
This is the first of two films that adopted the alternate title of Cannibal Holocaust 2, all in hopes of boosting its popularity by associating it with the more notorious film Cannibal Holocaust (1980).
