Trivia

I Married Dora

Edit
The series is remembered for its concluding scene in the final episode. The characters are in an airport, and Peter, the lead, is departing for a two year business trip abroad and leaving the kids with Dora. But then he returns and says that it's been canceled. Dora asks if he means the flight, and he replies that the series is canceled. The camera immediately pulls back to reveal the stage and studio audience, and the cast takes a bow.
About halfway through the October 16th, 1987 broadcast of "I Married Dora", ABC News broke in with live coverage of the rescue of "Baby Jessica". She had captured the hearts and attention of the entire nation after having fallen into and becoming trapped in a deep hole in her home town of Midland, Texas. The balance of the episode was never seen by the home audience.
Elizabeth Pena and Daniel Hugh Kelly were both from Elizabeth, New Jersey
This television series was accompanied in the credits by a legal disclaimer stating the act of marrying an illegal alien to avoid deportation is illegal.
