Law of Desire (1987)

Trivia

Law of Desire

Edit
The iconic hose scene was shot twice. The first one wasn't useful because the pressure was so big that Carmen Maura fell down. While the crew adjusted the hose, Maura dried herself and changed the dress. The second time the scene was shot perfectly.
Pedro Almodóvar considers Antonio Banderas's performance in this film his strongest to date.
Police inspector (Fernando Guillén) and his assistant (Fernando Guillén Cuervo) are father and son both in movie and in real life.
In the scene where Tina (Carmen Maura) washes dishes in Pablo's (Eusebio Poncela) kitchen, she wears an apron that has the logo for What Have I Done to Deserve This? (1984). The logo is the same one as the one used for the Spanish posters for that film.
Pablo (Eusebio Poncela)'s new play is an adaptation of Jean Cocteau's 'The Human Voice', starring his sister Tina (Carmen Maura). Pedro Almodóvar's next film Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (1988) was based on the story, and 30 years later, he made a more direct adaptation, The Human Voice (2020), starring Tilda Swinton.
