The movie's closing credits state that the production was: "Filmed on location in Wilcannia and Sydney, New South Wales, Australia''.
The film was made with the participation of Australian Film Finance Corporation (AFFC)'s 1990 FFC Film Fund aka the Film Trust Fund. Of the five pictures to receive funding from this scheme, nicknamed in the industry as the ''chook raffle'', 'Deadly' (1991) was the first to go into production. The other movies were 'Garbo', 'Spotswood', 'Daydream Believer', and 'The Last Days of Chez Nous'. The closing credits of 'Deadly' (1991) state that this film was: ''Made with the participation of Australian Film Finance Corporation Pty Limited as part of the 1990 FFC Film Fund''.
First cinema movie as a producer and first produced screenplay of a feature film for actor Richard Moir.
Final major theatrical feature film directed by director Esben Storm. Afterwards, Storm directed in television, and one feature film, 'Subterano' (2003), went straight to DVD video, and Storm was billed under the pseudonym Mort S. Seben.
