Ed Gale in Dolly Dearest (1991)

Trivia

Dolly Dearest

Edit
This movie is often considered a clone of Child's Play (1988), both being part of the "killer doll" genre. Ed Gale played the part of the possessed doll in both movies.
This is the movie 12-year-old Katie Romanek was watching right before she was abducted in 1994. This case was covered in the FBI Files episode "When Seconds Count", season 4, episode 17. A state-wide manhunt immediately began and the child was found alive and well several hours later. Her 25-year-old kidnapper was apprehended not long after.
Had a brief theatrical run in the midwest before its May 1992 video release.
One of the production-used dolls was auctioned off on eBay.
In this films super early days of working, it was being worked under the title "Child's Play 4" very rare promotions posters were actually titling the film "Child's Play 4" as well but changed the name to "Dolly Dearest" before it hit theaters
