The film had a bumper opening and was running successfully but Sanjay Dutt's arrest and subsequent ban on screening affected its box office performance. Otherwise film would be a major hit.
Screening of the film was stopped was stopped 3 weeks later after Sanjay's name came in Bombay blasts and his arrest on 19 April. The film was running very successfully till then.
