pure action
Obviously for pure action, shooting and killing this is surely the one. Although there are quiet moments of some dull dialogue and then we are off again. Even in the opening scene or especially later on the nightmare hospital killing there would surely not be any police at all. But this is not the point and if we can just enjoy the action it is amazing. Later on John Woo made in USA with Face/Off (1997) with Travolta and Cage which was okay although I have to say that earlier with The Killer (1989) and Bullet in the Head (1990) in Hong Kong are the better films. I was rather pleased to see Anthony Wong and in the next year he made The Untold Story and Taxi Hunter both in 1993 and in neither of those awful, good films were nothing like the number of killings.
