the golden mediocre years of the Disney Channel

"Still Not Quite Human" is a film I haven't seen since I was... what? Eight? Seven? I forget. Anyway, it's been more than a decade since I've seen it, but I still have quite fond memories of it.

For the young, this film will be energetic, suspenseful, and funny. Not to mention charming. I have a very, VERY strong feeling that now, as a young adult, this film would just be incredibly awful. If I remember correctly, a lot of half baked plot clichés are thrown about, and the interaction between Alan and Underwood (whom I had a huge crush on as a young child) is probably cheesier than almost anything.

But I haven't seen it in awhile. I remember that it involves doubles/clones of the two characters and perhaps the government pursuing them. Alan Thicke's clone was slightly dim witted, and it was kind of funny. Heh, thinking about it now even makes me smile.

Anyway, there's a reason less than a hundred people voted for this film. It's probably not very good. But, alas, it was a great film for me as a kid. If you have a child with an open mind to movies, try to find a VHS copy of this film.

A Good Ending To The Series

It's been 13 years since I saw the last film in the Not Quite Human series and to this day I feel that it was still a good movie to watch either on the weekend or for any day of the week.

Underwood's role as the lovable android Chip was still as clever as usual and very smart my only complaint was that the characters of Becky and his love interest Roberta were absent in this film.

This time around Chip and Dr. Carson (Thicke) attend a scientists convention afterwards his father is kidnapped by a millionaire and now with the help of a pick pocket thief , an android look alike of his dad and a female cop he must rescue him. This installment was witty, filled with suspense and the usual funny moments.

Still Not Quite Human was a perfectly simple ending to a good series I don't know if any kids out there would watch it but I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good laugh.

What ever happened to Jay Underwood?

The Not Quite Human Trilogy is a guilty pleasure for me. They are not great movies, but like Airborne or am Ernest movie, if it is on at 2 in the morning, it keeps your attention. In this installment, we find Chip and father still living together (apparently the sister Robin Lively has more important things to do with her career than be in this movie) but this time we get two Alan Thickes for the price of one. wow! (he said sarcastically). Apparently, an evil millionaire has kidnapped the real Dr. Carson and replaced him with an Android. Mild hilarity ensues, a pick-pocket and female cop are just thrown into the plot for no reason. Whatever happened to Jay Underwood anyway? He was an okay actor (The Boy Who Could Fly was good and Invisible Kid was funny). He has made bad choices in his career(don't get me started on Fatal Affair). I would like to see someone give him another chance. Oh well, Also Recommend Sleepstalker (straight to video horror flick) and that Napa commercial I have seen Jay on.
