Melissa Gilbert plays a woman that was adopted. In real life she was adopted along with her brother Jonathan Gilbert.
One of the group photos shown in the 1965 yearbook was from the night of the 1964 homecoming dance, with Beth being removed from the picture. Later, that same photo was at Tim's home, which he showed to Julie, and Beth was included in the photo. Apart from a few outdoor photos featuring Beth as a cheerleader and a few of her male friends, all of the photos featuring the younger versions of the characters were taken during the school dance scene.
