TMZ caught up with Wayne Knight — Seinfeld’s Newman — at an airport recently, but it’s an interaction that almost didn’t happen. Why not? The site’s intrepid reporter almost didn’t recognize Knight thanks to his significant weight loss. “From about Jurassic Park to now,” Knight revealed, he’s lost about 110 pounds.
That’s great for Knight’s health, but not necessarily fantastic for his career. When asked if his weight loss was affecting his career in a good way or a bad way, Knight candidly replied, “In a bad way. But it takes time for people to accept you as you are. Then they find out whether or not you can still do things without being fat.”
Knight joked that he’d lost about 7,000 pounds over the years — just not all at once. “I lose 10, I gain 50,” he explained. “I lose 100, I gain 12.”

Jeff Goldblum shocked passersby with an impromptu piano performance at London’s St. Pancras International train station on Wednesday, in celebration of the release of Wicked.
The Jurassic Park alum, who stars as the Wizard of Oz in Jon M. Chu’s impending musical adaptation, performed an intimate rendition of a Wicked number and two Christmas tunes as travelers and shoppers watched on.
Goldblum is a musical talent as well as an actor. Performing as part of The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, his band is known for their contemporary arrangements of classic jazz and American songbook standards.
The station he performed at on Wednesday unveiled a Wicked themed Christmas tree in partnership with Universal Pictures, to celebrate the movie’s release. In taking to the St. Pancras piano, Goldblum followed in the footsteps of Grammy award winners Alicia Keys and Nora Jones, and dynamic duo Rod Stewart and Jools Holland, who also performed there.

There’s a new entry in the Jurassic Park / Jurassic World franchise heading our way, with Jurassic World Rebirth set to reach theatres on July 2, 2025 – and during an interview with Empire, director Gareth Edwards said that the new movie goes back to what he loved about the original Jurassic Park.
News of the new Jurassic World movie first hit back in January, when it was revealed that the screenplay – by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, returning to the franchise for the first time since The Lost World: Jurassic Park – had already been written. The project was assembled in a mad scramble after that, with Godzilla and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards ending up at the helm. This new Jurassic World movie won’t be featuring any returning lead characters from the previous Jurassic Park / Jurassic World movies, so describing it as a “Rebirth” could be accurate.

One of the biggest movie events of the fall is upon us. "Wicked," which is adapted from the famed Broadway musical of the same name, is hitting theaters after being talked about for years. Now, it's a reality. Cynthia Erivo ("Harriet") and Ariana Grande ("Don't Look Up") lead the cast of director Jon M. Chu's star-studded musical. It's a big movie that already has a sequel on the way. So, did Universal do a little extra something to help tee up the ball for next year's "Wicked: Part Two"?
Credits scenes are a pretty regular thing these days, with Marvel films and other franchise fare often using them to help set up future installments. Given that "Wicked" was split into two parts in 2022 (with good reason), it wouldn't be surprising if such tactics were employed by Chu here. With that being the case, we're here to offer up a...

Josh O’Connor has joined the cast of the untitled film from Steven Spielberg, where he will star alongside Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer), Colin Firth (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Colman Domingo (Euphoria) and Eve Hewson (Hedda).
We don’t know much about the project itself, only that it’s said to be a UFO movie based on Spielberg’s own original idea, with David Koepp (Jurassic Park) writing the screenplay. A UFO movie from the man who gave us Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and War of the Worlds is pretty much all I need to know. Bring it on. Universal Pictures has already slated the project for a May 15, 2026 release.

Josh O’Connor, the increasingly high-profile star of “The Crown” and “Challengers,” has joined the cast of Steven Spielberg’s secretive next film, Variety reports.
O’Connor joins the previously announced Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, and Eve Hewson in the film, which is scheduled for May 15, 2026 from Universal.
The project will reunite Spielberg with his “Jurassic Park” screenwriter David Koepp and is expected to have sci-fi elements. Spielberg’s longtime collaborator Kristie Macosko Krieger is producer. Here at JoBlo Horror Originals we talk a lot about gateway horror films. Depending on the generation you belong to, that can be a few different things. Kids of the 70s will always have Jaws as an introduction to horror and that movie is still a great way to introduce newer generations to the genre after almost 50 years. Two of my favorites from the 80’s, and two films that both my sons have seen, are The Gate and The Monster Squad. Again, both great and both still hold up as not only fun horror flicks but great ways to ease in the younger crowd. As a kid born in 1985, I am much more a child of the 90s so even if you hadn’t read the title of the video you clicked, you could probably guess that I saw Jurassic Park in theaters, it scared and enthralled me and made me want more.

The Jurassic Park franchise is one of the biggest in Hollywood history. First exploding onto the scene in 1993 with Steven Spielberg's triumphant box-office champion Jurassic Park, the film series continued with two sequels throughout the '90s and early 2000s before going dormant for over a decade. It then returned with a vengeance in 2015 with Jurassic World, which exceeded its iconic predecessor at the box office and subsequently produced two more larger-than-life sequels.
The Jurassic World chapter concluded with Dominion in 2022 but its success ensured that the franchise would continue beyond that. A new sequel titled Jurassic World: Rebirth was announced for the summer of 2025, and it has since added a very star-studded cast to its name. That cast includes Marvel icon Scarlett Johansson, Bridgerton sensation Jonathan Bailey, Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali, and Dead Boy Detectives star David Iacono.

Real cinephiles know that Letterboxd, where you can log movies you've watched and discuss them, is the best social media site, and one of the best things Letterboxd does is ask celebrities to list their four favorite movies. Before the release of her romantic comedy "No Hard Feelings," Letterboxd caught up with Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence to ask about her four favorite movies, and the entire concept seemed to deeply stress her out.

The Jurassic franchise has been through all kinds of evolutions already. There was Spielberg’s classic original Jurassic Park, which led to The Lost World and Jurassic Park III. And then in 2015 began the Jurassic World trilogy, giving us a fully-fledged dinosaur theme park before letting the pre-historic beasts loose on the world. Now, Jurassic is about to be reborn – quite literally, with Jurassic World Rebirth ready to bare its teeth. This time, Godzilla and Monsters director Gareth Edwards is putting his scaly-beast expertise to good use, working from a script by original Park scribe David Koepp – ready to take the saga back to the source.
“It goes back to what I loved about the original,” Edwards tells Empire in our Andor Season 2 issue, “with an embarrassment of riches of different set-piece-type scenarios and tense, fun action moments. There were a lot of opportunities as a filmmaker to have a...

Early on in Denzel Washington's brilliant career, he gave critics a preview of how he was going to play the movie star game going forward -- and they weren't pleased. In between making acclaimed dramas like "Cry Freedom," "Glory," and "Mississippi Masala," Washington cut loose and sought to build up some box office cred in formulaic action movies like "Heart Condition" and "Ricochet." Reviewers who viewed Washington as a major star in the making were disappointed with, if not aghast at, his choices. What a colossal waste of the man's time and talent, they reasoned, to run around in his boxer shorts after John Lithgow in full glazed ham mode. Then he'd go and make "Malcolm X," and everyone would hush up until a frivolity like "Virtuosity" dropped.
Washington had it right. If he wanted to ensure more movies like "Malcolm X" or "Philadelphia" got made further down the line,...

Jeff Goldblum’s film career started in a particularly auspicious manner since his first four films were all highly regarded works of the early 1970s: “Death Wish”, “California Split”, “Nashville” and “Next Stop, Greenwich Village.” He continued to work in film and television for the next four decades and even returned to Broadway a few times, most notably in the highly regarded Martin McDonough play “The Pillowman.”
Along the way Goldblum has picked up a number of award nominations including an Oscar nomination for Best Live Action Short Film for “Little Surprises.” He received an Emmy nomination for a guest appearance on “Will and Grace” in 2005. He also was a nominee for Best Actor for two of the most prestigious critics awards groups for his work in “The Fly.” Both the New York Film’s Critics and the National Society of Film Critics named him as one of the top three actors of the year.

The courtroom has not only given out justice, but some of the very best films cinema has to offer. Legendary, and brilliant films such as 12 Angry Men, Witness for the Prosecution, Anatomy of a Murder, and my personal favourite, The Verdict. There was a time when the courtroom drama was a staple piece of the cinematic world, recently that staple has faded away… along with many other genres. The courtroom drama is hard to find in modern times, and Clint Eastwoods new film Juror #2, is also, in its own way hard to find. Limited screen releases have made the legendary filmmaker’s latest film hard to find at your local cinema, and its limited release is questionable, when it feels...

When it comes to the box office battle between Universal’s Wicked, in which Jeff Goldblum plays the Wizard, and Paramount’s Gladiator II, it will not be a survival of the fittest.
Deadline’s Natalie Sitek asked him at Saturday night’s Wicked LA premiere about the Glicked effect that’s expected to take place at the box office on Nov. 22 with Wicked expected to do $85M+ and Gladiator II north of $65M, and Goldblum emphasized, “”Nobody’s in competition — it’s an abundance mentality world with enough to go around.” Also, don’t forget, Disney’s Moana 2 is opening five days after Wicked with female moviegoers expected to do another go-round at cinemas over the Thanksgiving 5-day period.
“That’s part of the theme of our show!” he continued.
Duly note, that the actor of Annie Hall, The Fly, Transylvania 6-5000 and Jurassic Park said, “I want to see Gladiator II!

Bailey is taking on the role of paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis in the latest “Jurassic Park” film, “Jurassic World Rebirth” – and nobody’s more excited to see it than Goldblum.
“The hope of the world resides, and I can think of no better baton receiver to carry on the ‘da da da da da,'” Goldblum tells Variety, singing the iconic “Jurassic Park” theme by John Williams. “It’s Jonathan Bailey! It’s like no other!”
Bailey shares that he and Goldblum chatted about the role for the first time while they were en route to CinemaCon earlier this year. “I had the invitation to join the ‘Jurassic’ world, to join the conga line led by Jeff,” Bailey said. “The original film was a seminal cinematic moment, purely because of Jeff, but also, I went with my family,...

Apart from pricey trips to Universal Studios and the odd Spanish “Krasty Burger” location, it’s basically impossible for us humans to enter the cartoon world of The Simpsons. That being said, one lucky person somewhere in America is driving around in Homer Simpson’s car, hopefully keeping their eyes peeled for chestnut trees.
For the entire time that the show has been on the air, Homer has been driving around in his trademark pink sedan, although there’s been some debate as to what type of car it is exactly. One fan wiki page called it a “1973 Plymouth Valiant” until a Season 28 episode referred to it as a “1986 Plymouth Junkerolla.” Oh, and it was apparently built in Croatia using “old Soviet tanks.”
Simpsons fans recently noticed that just last month, an exact replica of Homer’s car was listed for sale in Muskegon, Michigan, according to an ad posted on Facebook Marketplace.

Last month, 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell confirmed that a sequel to director Fede Alvarez’s recently released Alien: Romulus is in the works – so when The Hollywood Reporter mentioned in an article that producer Ridley Scott “revealed he’s developing a new Alien movie for 20th in the wake of Romulus’ success,” they’re probably talking about that Romulus sequel… even though Scott thinks a better choice would be to make a follow-up to his 2017 film Alien: Covenant.
Scott told THR, “Covenant is the best one [for a sequel] because it leaves the girl in the [cryo pod] and [Michael Fassbender’s killer android] David has alien eggs and 2,000 colonists hanging around. It’s a perfect beginning.” Interviewer James Hibberd suggested that the next film could be a sequel to both Covenant and Romulus, since “both films ended with ships headed to a planet we’ve never been to; there’s no reason...

During an interview, Steven Spielberg reflected on his decision not to watch his own movies (Photo Credit – Amazon Prime Video)
Steven Spielberg doesn’t watch his films! Ahan, who brought us Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Schindler’s List, would rather skip right past them if they pop up on TV.
So, what gives? Spielberg shared his “no rewatch” policy while promoting Spielberg, the HBO documentary chronicling his legendary career. He explained to E! News that his approach is simple: he doesn’t “dwell.” As soon as one movie’s done, it’s onto the next project—no rewinds, no replays. For Spielberg, it’s all about looking forward. “I don’t dwell,” he said, hinting that reliving his past films might feel like revisiting old homework.
The one exception to Spielberg’s hard rule is E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. But even then,...

Emily Blunt is one of the biggest actors in the business right now. Not only has she been starring in beloved movies such as "The Devil Wears Prada" or "Edge of Tomorrow" for nearly two decades, but she's also now an Oscar winner thanks to her work in Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer." Like most people who star in movies, Blunt is also a big fan of movies. No surprise there. But what's her favorite movie? Demonstrating good taste, it's an absolute classic directed by none other than Steven Spielberg.
"I always say 'Jaws,' people are sick of hearing me say that," Blunt said when asked what her four favorite movies are during a red carpet interview at SXSW 2024 with Letterboxd. "It's an incredible, perfect film." Indeed, she has been vocal about her love of "Jaws" for a long time.

If you've never seen "Goodfellas," it's probably best you stop what you're doing and watch Martin Scorsese's seminal mob flick now. The film is only one of the best mob movies you need to see immediately, and alongside "The Godfather" occupies a hallowed space within the genre. Luckily, for those that are somehow uninitiated, "Goodfellas" is now streaming over on Max, where it's managing to prove its worth as an undisputed classic all over again.
Based on the book "Wiseguy" by Nicholas Pileggi, who co-write "Goodfellas" with Scorsese, the film tells the story of Henry Hill, a Brooklyn kid whose dreams of joining the mob are fulfilled after Robert DeNiro's Jimmy Conway takes him under his wing. Spanning three decades, the movie is a sweeping look at the life of a gangster, depicting all the glamor that comes with it while also not shying away from the brutality...

Warner Bros. is seeking to throw out a lawsuit filed by the estate of Michael Crichton, which argued that the forthcoming Max series “The Pitt” is an unauthorized reboot of “ER.”
Crichton was a creator of “ER,” having written the original pilot script based on his own experiences as a medical student. His widow, Sherri, sued in August, accusing John Wells, Noah Wyle and others of going behind her back to create “The Pitt,” which she alleged is “ER” in all but its title.
The studio filed a motion Monday arguing that the two shows are distinct and the lawsuit is doomed to fail.
“‘The Pitt’ is a completely different show from ‘ER,'” the motion states. “Plaintiff cannot use Mr. Crichton’s ‘ER’ contract as a speech-stifling weapon to prevent Defendants from ever making a show about emergency medicine.”

Chris Pratt published an op-ed a few days before Election Day on his mother-in-law Maria Shriver’s website, Sunday Paper, in which he said that he’s focused less on who becomes our next president and more on making sure Americans continue to help one another regardless of the election outcome. Pratt did not publicly endorse either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump in his op-ed, which resulted in some fan disappointment on social media.
“I write this now because about half of the voting population is going to be incredibly disappointed on November 6th,” Pratt wrote. “But for me, the question is not, ‘Did your candidate win or lose?’ but rather, ‘Will you wake up the next morning and help an old lady move?'”

Hayden Christensen is going to have to use more than the force if he’s going to be part of a championship NASCAR team. But he’s giving it a go, leading a promotional video for the new Darth Vader-inspired Star Wars car and helmet for NASCAR. Check out the car:
For the design, Doug Chiang, an executive designer at Lucasfilm, had to figure out how to incorporate Darth Vader – and, thus, the Dark Side – into the vehicle’s scheme, which would then be complemented by the Star Wars title on the hood of the NASCAR . As for his love of both Star Wars and Hayden Christensen, Chiang said, “I just love Hayden. I love his character and I love what he brings to it, and so I’m hoping that this design will pay respect to both Hayden and Vader.” You can check out the promo video below:...

John Williams “has made a gigantic contribution to the world of music at large, beginning with making film music legitimate but also his concert work.” For our recent webchat, director and producer Laurent Bouzereau makes that claim about the subject of his new documentary “Music by John Williams,” which now streaming on Disney+. In fact, Bouzereau ranks Williams as the #1 composer of the 20th century, ahead of Gershwin, McCartney/Lennon and Simon, adding, “My argument is that there are very few people” (especially who started in the 1960s and 1970s) who “have survived the test of time.”
He admits that he’s “been preparing for this my entire life” by watching the films of Steven Spielberg with the scores by maestro Williams. He adds that it’s “an honor to be the one who tells this story, because I’m not the first one to approach John. He said ‘no’ many times,...

As commercially successful as the "Jurassic World" trilogy was, it was creatively bankrupt. Sure, it had some good ideas, like exploring what would happen if a version of Jurassic Park actually opened to the public. Be that as it may, those films squandered their coolest elements by going instead with the safest and most boring route at every opportunity — like basically forgetting about the dinosaurs and ending with "Jurassic World Dominion," a movie that focuses on ... prehistoric bugs.
This last bit is important, because the idea of dinosaurs free in the world was without a doubt the best thing the "Jurassic World" movies promised, and we are finally seeing it happen — just not on the big screen. That's because it's the animated series "Jurassic World: Chaos Theory" that's taking up the mantle of delivering on the promise of the movies, which was only briefly hinted at in the "Battle at Big Rock" short film.

Fans of dinosaur movies are going to love The Invisible Raptor, a film which really is just as crazy as it sounds. Directed by Mike Hermosa, who also helmed Dutch Hollow and Wildflower, the plot of The Invisible Raptor focuses on an invisible velociraptor which was created by scientists before breaking free from captivity and slaughtering everything in its path.
With law enforcement not being able to determine the culprit behind the attacks, it falls to failed palaeontologist Dr. Grant Walker (Mike Capes) and his security guard friend, Deniel ‘Denny’ Denielson (David Shackelford), to save the day. As the bodycount continues to rise (with the spectacular gruesome kills being one of the film’s strongest qualities), Walker and Denielson are forced to resort to drastic measures in order to stop the invisible reptile.
In addition to playing the lead role of Dr. Grant Walker, Capes also penned the screenplay for The Invisible Raptor,...

The internet is reacting to a “new” rumor from World of Reel that indicates a new Pirates of the Caribbean film will start shooting in 2025 without Johnny Depp. While this isn’t surprising, fans’ reaction to this “news” has not been good.
Does this mean Johnny Depp is not returning as Captain Jack Sparrow in a Pirates of the Caribbean Film?
Currently, no.
If the report is true, this film would be the reboot with an all-new cast and no Captain Jack (Johnny Depp.)
But what about the plans for the two films?
There have been plans to do two “Pirates of the Caribbean” films for a while now. One was meant to be a reboot with a new cast, and the other was a female-centric film that was originally to star Margo Robbie.
