Samuel L. Jackson and Emilio Estevez in Loaded Weapon 1 (1993)

Trivia

Loaded Weapon 1

Edit
Although this movie is called "Loaded Weapon 1", a sequel never happened. There was every intention to make "Loaded Weapon 2". A deal had been set in place before this movie had gone into production, and a poster had even been printed with the caption, "Oh come ON, you knew it was coming!" However, when this movie underperformed at the box-office, the deal was cancelled.
When Officers Francis Poncherello and Jon Baker from CHiPs (1977) appear, they are seen with their guns drawn in the middle of a gunfight. In the entire run of "CHiPs," they famously never drew their weapons or fired a shot.
The closing credits dedication reads: "This film is dedicated to the memory of John S. Owens." Owens worked as a boom operator in the Sound Department in the film industry.
While Colt and Luger are named for guns, they actually use a Beretta and a Smith & Wesson, respectively, the same guns used by Riggs and Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon films.
This was originally intended to be a movie based on the Sledge Hammer! (1986) television series, as the show's creator, Alan Spencer, had a deal with "New Line Cinema" to produce a movie for them. However, Spencer hated all of the scripts that were handed to him (saying they did not meet the show's plot or tone) and severed ties shortly thereafter.

Cameo

Bruce Willis: As John McClane. Willis did a cameo for this movie, in character, as a personal favor to his brother David Willis, who is the producer of this movie. Willis' cameo spoofed the fact he only "worked" in Los Angeles, as he actually "lives" in New York City.
Corey Feldman: As a young rookie cop who fires his gun.
Christopher Lambert: Uncredited, as a man with a car phone.
Paul Gleason: As an F.B.I. Agent.
Larry Wilcox: As himself in reference to his character Officer Jon Baker from CHiPs (1977).
