Brian Bonsall and Bob Saget in Father and Scout (1994)

Trivia

Father and Scout

Edit
Although a grizzly bear is shown on the film's poster, no bears or any other animals appear in the movie.
Filmed in between the seventh and eighth season of Full House (1987) during Bob Saget's summer hiatus from the show.
Thomas F. Wilson who is most famous for playing Biff in the Back to the Future (1985) franchise was the first choice for the role of Chet. However he was busy with other projects and had to decline. He actually suggested David Graf because in real life Wilson has constantly been mistaken for the late actor, as many fans think he played Graf's role in the Police Academy (1984) franchise. Bob Saget in particular was a big fan of the Police Academy movies and also being executive producer of this film immediately approved his casting.
In this movie Bob Saget is doing a general impression of Woody Allen, whom he idolized in real life and was one of his biggest influences in becoming a comedian.
Early in development, John Candy was considered for the role of Aaron. However he passed away in March of 1994 and as a result was never offered the role. Bob Saget then suggested Chris Farley for the role but he was busy filming Saturday Night Live (1975) and Tommy Boy (1995) and was unable to commit. Eventually Stuart Pankin was suggested and surprised everyone when he agreed to take part because at the time he was more known to appear in non-family friendly commercial movies such as Fatal Attraction (1987) and Arachnophobia (1990).
