Now at the potty-training stage, two-and-a-half-year-old Mikey (Lorne Sussman; voice of Bruce Willis) must also learn to adjust to his new little sister Julie (voice of Roseanne Barr), but the stress of raising two children is having its toll on Mollie (Kirstie Alley) and James (John Travolta) Ubriacco's marriage.
Look Who's Talking Too is a sequel to Look Who's Talking (1989) (1989), which was created by American filmmaker Amy Heckerling. Heckerling, who also directed the movie, and American screenwriter Neal Israel wrote the screenplay for Look Who's Talking Too. It was followed by Look Who's Talking Now (1993) (1993).
Look Who's Talking ends with the birth of Baby Julie. However, Look Who's Talking Too backs up nine months earlier in order to show her conception in vitro.
James refers to Mollie's brother Stuart (Elias Koteas) as "Travis Bickle". Travis Bickle is the lead character of Taxi Driver (1976) (1976) and portrayed by Robert De Niro. The parallel between Stuart and Travis is that they both carry guns.
"Schmendrick" is from the Yiddish word shmendrik, meaning "a stupid and ineffectual person". It appears as the name of a character in Shmendrik, oder Di komishe Chaseneh (Shemdrik or The Comical Wedding), an 1877 operatta by Avrom Goldfaden [1840-1908], Father of Yiddish Theater. "Schmendrick" also refers to Schmendrick the Magician, a wizard from the 1968 fantasy novel The Last Unicorn by American author Peter S. Beagle.
The scene of the three ghosts being electrocuted is from "Minnie the Moocher", a classic 1932 Betty Boop cartoon. The song is sung by African-American jazz singer Cab Calloway.
Stuart (Elias Koteas) goes after the burglar, leaving Mikey and Julie home alone. A towel left on the stove burner ignites, falls on the floor, and sets the kitchen on fire. Mollie and James, returning from the airport, see Stuart in the street and ask where the children are. As they look up at the apartment windows, they see that the kitchen is on fire. As they run into the building, the elevator doors open, revealing Mikey safely pushing Julie in her walker. While James goes upstairs to put out the fire, Stuart explains to the arriving firemen what happened. Rona (Twink Caplan) is so impressed that she asks Stuart to marry her. In the final scene, while the grownups sit down for a backyard barbecue, Mikey and Julie pledge their love for each other and vow their allegiance to each other as brother and sister.
