Based on the short stories "Great Falls" and 'Children" from play-write Richard Ford's novel "Rock Springs."
Lilli Taylor had great difficulty during production and was fired mid way through filming over her artistic choices but could not be replaced because so much of the film was in the can.
The film cast includes three Oscar nominees: Sam Shepard, Valerie Perrine and Burt Young.
