According to an interview on the podcast '"Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum," it was revealed that Beverly D'Angelo and Neil Jordan were in a relationship at the time filming began. D'Angelo stated that at the beginning of filming she discovered that Jordan had been having an affair with another woman that resulted in a pregnancy. She states that her performance in "The Miracle" was affected by the tension between her and Jordan as well as by distractions resulting from the events surrounding the revelation.
Film debuts of Niall Byrne and Lorraine Pilkington, who play respectively Jimmy and Rose. As of 2017, it is Byrne's only feature film role.
