more comedy than horror but nice effects

This is a weird movie, it isn't a horror but it do says what the title says, it is a revenge by a reporter being so-called killed but he survives the toxic waist and returns as a deformed human, does it rings a bell, Toxic Avenger anyone? The two main leads, David Scammell and Kathryn Boese are unknown actors and disappeared in obscurity after this flick as almost all actors in this feature. I said it before, it isn't a horror even as the sleeve shows gore. It is more a comedy with a lot of one-liners and funny situations. But the movie became hunted down due the director Craig Pryce better known for so many series he directed, this was his first full feature. It do contains a lot of really good effects and some are indeed nasty and gory. A reason why some horror aficionado's do hunt for this rather easy to find on PAL and NTSC vid.

    Somebody get me some Motrin!!!

What a rare find this is! A newspaper reporter goes to a nuclear power plant only to get dumped into a pool of contaminated radioactive waste by sleazy executive ^~$holes. He becomes an ugly flesh-faced innocent...reporter...who looks like Freddy Krueger and trying to convince his girlfriend Richelle that's he's him! He has a unique way to kill...with his face! (???) That's right, another independent film by a nut who copied off certain movies to make a lame-brained spoof of horror movies we have all grown to love. And there's much more to describe the horrifically bad taste. One can't fully understand the awful acting and dumb dialogue as well as the plain colored sets along with the shades and hues of blue. As trying to be hilarious, it's willing to be boring. The character Richelle does a decent job at acting in despair and grief up to the bitter end, and the print looks nice, but what's the meaning of R. OF THE R. R.? Virtually none! It's meaningless in all entirety! Rare movies like this are worth a look, including a bizarre skateboard-psycho network movie I saw called SHREDDER ORPHEUS, but if you're planning on forking tons of dough over that hard-to-find movie, seek financial help. Don't complain about getting cheated over it if you had already spent your hard-earned $80 worth!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Wait, I was not supposed to laugh...

Revenge of the Radioactive Reporter enters in that category of movies that are so awfully bad, they are incredibly funny... Everything about this movie is absolutely ridiculous, starting with the title and ending with the ridiculous ending. Sometimes, the script is so incoherent you can't follow the story, which is so stupid you will want to cry... The acting doesn't help either. The actors deliver their (ridiculous) lines with the conviction of a dead hamster(that's not a lot). Some of the scenes are incredibly weird, including the scenes where the radioactive reporter(can you imagine such a stupid idea as a RADIOACTIVE REPORTER???) dreams about some kind of freak show... Was their a point to this sequence? The scenario makes absolutely no sense. Also, the special effects(or, to quote Hardware Wars, the special defects) are very cheap... The elephant man is one of the most ridiculous costumes in movie history, and that radioactive reporter isn't very convincing either. A lack of suspense where there is supposed to be some is also remarkable... How could somebody have made such a bad movie while trying to be serious is absolutely mind-boggling... This movie is one of the worst ever...

5% from a serious point of view, 100% from the cheese-o-meter's point of view...

How to Make a Bad Movie

Revenge of the Radioactive Reporter is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I saw it announced in the TV Guide so I taped it and I found out just how bad it was. Unless you're making a Movie Cheesefest, don't watch this (if you can FIND the movie)!

This movie is so cheap I can't believe the Canadian government gave a subvention to these people to make such a lame picture.

The script is poor. Predictable, cheesy, boring, and the jokes are not even funny. It's a about a reporter who finds out that the local nuclear power plant board of directors is poisoning the environment, and he threatens to reveal their little evil conspiracy to the media, but before he does, the evil director throws him in a pool of radioactive waste. But miraculously, he survives and becomes a superhuman being with radioactive powers, killing the power plant's employees one by one. Seen that before.

The actors are the worst it can possibly get. I'm glad it was the only movie Kathryn Boese (Richelle) was into, because I honestly never saw a worst actress. Randy Pearlstein also doesn't deliver, proving that he has no experience in acting.

If you look closely during the movie, you can see some Dollar Store props, like the foot left behind when Tony Trouble gets eaten up by the giant monkey (yes you heard me right). It just shows you how bad this movie is.

So basically, everything about this movie, the script, the actors, the plot, the sets, the props, the cinematography, the music, sucked. It should be shown at movie schools for people never to make something that bad again.

    Radioactive urine.

After being thrown in a pool of toxic waste the reporter named Mike Wave mutates into radioactive creature hellbent on getting revenge."Revenge of the Radioactive Reporter" by Craig Pryce is an extremely cheesy horror spoof which won Best Independent Theatrical Feature at the 1990 Houston Film Festival. The film was released in almost exactly the same year as Sam Raimi's more serious "Darkman".There is plenty of cheese in "Revenge of the Radioactive Reporter" plus some crude sexual jokes. The plot is extremely silly and the image of Mike urinating radioactive waste into the woman's bathtub is simply unforgettable. If you are into Troma's movies give this trashy junk a look.6 reporters out of 10.The film was shot in Toronto.
