Anthony Hopkins and Rebecca Rigg in The Efficiency Expert (1991)

Trivia

The Efficiency Expert

Edit
Toni Collette's feature-film debut playing Carey's best friend Wendy Robinson.
When the movie was released in Sweden in 1992 it used the Swedish title of "När toffelfabriken tystnar" which (roughly) translates into "Silence of the Slippers Factory" trying to cash in on Anthony Hopkins' success with The Silence of the Lambs (1991) ("När lammen tystnar"). The translated title also makes the mistake of using the word "slippers" instead of "moccasins" that the factory in the movie actually manufactures.
The Efficiency Expert (1991) grossed $1,505,884 at the box office in Australia, which is equivalent to $2,348,887 in 2009 dollars.
This movie has also been released under the title "Spotswood," the name of the Melbourne suburb in which this movie is set.
Russell Crowe and Dan Wyllie both starred in Romper Stomper (1992) the following year (1992), which was filmed/set in the same Western inner-suburbs of Melbourne, like Spotswood (also the title the movie was released under, in Australia), Flemington and Footscray.
