Featured review
Tim Matheson gives an industrious, agreeable performance as a high school teacher who returns to his rural hometown and encounters the murderous ghosts of the punks who killed his brother 27 years ago. In many ways a classic Stephen King story, with familiar elements such as small-town stereotypes and social mechanisms, menacing cars, and - obviously - some dabbling in the interface between life and death. The film is nicely structured, with a useful basic premise and a well thought-out back story, but it's not as engaging as King's best horror stories. It lacks mystique. The stylized antagonists look and act more like characters from a Michael Jackson video than like genuinely scary apparitions. Made for TV.
