I have always loved Disney. Goof Troop is wonderful, and one of my favourite shows of theirs alongside Darkwing Duck, Talespin and DuckTales.
The animation often has a crisp and smooth quality with the backgrounds and is also very colourful. The music is hip and cool as well with one of the most memorable theme tunes of any 90s cartoon show, the story lines always engage and the writing never fails to be hilarious, in fact I consider Goof Troop to be one of Disney's funniest shows.
Wonderful characters too. Goofy is still clumsy and lovable, Max never fell into the trap of being overly-cutesy or bland and Pete is often a character you love to hate. The voice acting is consistently great, Bill Farmer has some inspired delivery as he always does and Jim Cummings's Pete adds to the long list of his best voice roles.
Overall, wonderful. 10/10 Bethany Cox

Great show. I loved it as a kid. I also liked that later the movie "A Goofy movie" continued the life of goofy and Max with Max as a teenage high school student. Then "An extremely Goofy movie" takes us to college with Max and Goofy. It was fun growing up with Max because we were the same age at the same time. I know someone earlier said this show is a spin off of the movie. That is not correct. The show came first in 1992 and the movie came in 1995. In the show Max is 11 and is always trying to help Goofy do things that usually end up in a crazy adventure. they live next-door to Pete and his family. Pete is always trying to out do Goofy and thinks he is smarter than him. Pete has two children, PJ and Pistol who are always playing with Max. PJ is Max's best friend and they are always being followed around by PJ's little sister. I loved this show and can remember watching it every day after school.
This is the first cartoon out of Goofy one of mickey mouse's friends next to Donald Duck the jokes from this show are so hilarious it is an awesome cartoon for max goof and peg leg pete mickey's enemy.
I used to watch reruns of this TV show because I enjoyed "A Goofy Movie," of which this is a spin-off. Farmer returns to the voice of Goofy and essentially this show was just about him and his son Max (who was also in "A Goofy Movie").
The humor is not going to appeal to adults as much as children, although there are occasionally pop-culture references that older viewers will pick up on. There were also some celebrity cameos such as Jimmy Stewart and younger viewers most certainly would not recognize his voice.
Overall if you enjoyed "A Goofy Movie" it is likely that you will like this show, also - but it is not as good or fresh as the film.

Goof Troop was among the shows in the wonderful lineup that was Disney Afternoon, a staple of many growing up in the 1980s to 19990s. Featuring the classic Disney characters, Pete and Goofy and their families, this was the first animated Disney sit-coms instead of the usual adventure-based story lines, though with the show's lineup, there was certainly adventure of the goofy kind!
Admittedly I didn't pay as much attention to Goof Troop as much as I did with Darkwing Duck, I have grown to appreciate the show now more in my thirties. Along with the engaging characters, the show is very well animated with few flubs that I can see. A recommendation to anyone seeking something lighter to watch!
