i loved the show also my son would take a nap between the the 2 hrs. I also enjoyed twin brothers who where the handymen i learned so much from them. I loved Michael so much better than Chuck he was hilarious. They never held back anything. I miss shows like this, if it was on now we could have live chat rooms and send them questions to answer on air. I would love to know what everyone is doing now. They should do some kind of reunion show just to catch up with everyone and see what has happened in their lives in the past ten years. Kim does the Ellen Degeneres show a lot. I also would love to see everyones kids i am sure a lot of them are married and have kids of there own.
This show ran 2 hours every weekday afternoon. I agree with the previous poster. It was a wonderful show and was a huge loss when it was canceled. I think it ran 2 1/2 years, ending in Aug of 1998. I felt I had another family in this show and became deeply involved with everyone. I cried when they left the air. I too loved Mike Burger even more than Chuck Woolery. I laughed myself silly every day! Remember the "peanut butter kiss" he gave Cristina? What a hoot! You just never knew what he would do next! By the way, Kim was Kim Douglas. She is married to an actor on Young and the Restless. Home and Family was one of the best shows to ever play day time TV. The network really messed up in canceling this one.Wish we could see a "best of" on DVD set!
I actually never saw this show when it was on the air, but after seeing Michael Burger on Match Game 98/99, and enjoying him so much, I tracked down some tapes of the Home & Family Show. What a great show! Mike and Cristina made a perfect team. I'm so sorry this show is no longer on the air. It had such a fun, relaxed, friendly feel to it. It was, in turn, interesting, informative, poignant, and hysterically funny. I miss seeing Michael Burger on TV on a regular basis. I guess we'll have to muddle through without him until some TV exec comes to his senses and gives Mikey another show. Hopefully something like Home & Family!
I used to watch Home and Family when it came on at noon and loved every minute of it. Michael Burger was hilarious (and to me much better than Chuck Woolery) and I would alway's have tear's of laughter when he would go into his schtick. Cristina Ferarre was also fun to watch when she would react to Michael Burger's or as Cristina used to call him "Mikey's," hijink's! Cristina would also do cooking segment's, Candice Garvey would do craft segment's and sometimes with Bob Golic (a huge ex-pro football player) who would let everyone see his softer side. Then later in the program Kim (can't remember her last name) would do the movie review's and celeb gossip. What I loved the best about this show is that we got to live an hour with the families of this great cast. Cristina would bring her two daughter's to the set with her, Candace had her children with her, and we got to witness Kim give birth to her first child Hunter. We also went through Kim's fear's with her as she went and had mamogram and had a cancer scare when they found an abnormal lump in her breast. I can still remember her face as she told Mike and Cristina about her possibly having breast cancer and then breaking down into tear's. Luckily there was no cancer found. Yes I miss this show and hope one day some other station will bring the family back!
I miss this show and everyone who was on it. i hate that television doesn't currently offer a replacement. anytime i have the opportunity, i check to see what everyone who was on the show is now up to. hopefully sometime soon the networks will realize we need more how to shows that aren't so boring and mundane.
