Brian Downey, Michael McManus, and Xenia Seeberg in Lexx (1996)

Trivia

Lexx

Edit
In a recent interview, Eva Habermann revealed that the first time they stopped using doubles for her nude scenes and she went topless herself, one of the technicians told her "Your body looks far better than your double." She thought it was such a sweet thing to say. But she joked that these days if a technician or any other male crew or cast member said that to an actress, they would probably be fired and shamed all over social media.
In the english version of the show, the Lexx has a male voice, while in the german version, it's female.
Initially, Eva Habermann didn't feel comfortable performing nude because she said she was young and "did not feel pretty enough" so they used a double for the shower in her first scene and other episodes at first. Producers tried to cast a stripper as a double in Halifax where they were filming, but all the table dancers in town had piercings and tattoos. They finally used an extra who volunteered to take her clothes off for the nude close-ups. Later in season one, after Habermann grew more comfortable with the role and her confidence, she played the topless parts herself. She also said she felt really protected because she considered the actors and crew as a big family, so taking her clothes off in front of them was much easier. After leaving Lexx, she went on to perform in nude scenes in other films because this series made her feel more confident with her body.
When Eva Habermann was cast, producers told her she would need to have baby blue colored hair. They said a wig wouldn't look good so they would have to dye it. They didn't have those sort of dye colors at the time so they dyed her hair everyday during season one using something that made marshmallows turn blue. She hated it because it wasn't healthy. Two years later during early season two, they ended up using a wig because she decided to leave the series due to scheduling conflicts and only appeared in two episodes.
Eva Habermann said she was drawn to the Zev character because they were so much alike. Zev needed to be sexy but still innocent because this girl had never been sexy in her whole life. Habermann wasn't used to being sexy either. It was hard for her to play that character. She came from a very conservative background with no actors, so for her it was like a big adventure to go out there and try things. Before Lexx, she had been presenting at a children's show called Pumuckl TV (1995). Then suddenly, she was in a role wearing a push-up bra and miniskirt, and stripping naked for the first time in front of a crowd of people. It was all a very new and strange experience for her.
